Intro Part 2: Advanced Soda Firing & Surface Exploration

The more you learn about atmospheric firing, the more you realize how much control is possible—and how much must be left to the fire. This advanced-level class builds on the foundation of Intro to Cone 6 Soda, guiding students through an in-depth exploration of surface, material, and firing techniques.

Over the course of five weeks, students will participate in two firings, testing different combinations of clay, color, glaze, and soda surface effects. This class includes structured feedback, discussion, and technical refinement, helping students form a personal approach to soda firing.
