Poetics of Clay and Person: Forming Clay, Forming Self

Working with clay is more than just shaping material—it’s about shaping thought, experience, and perspective. This class brings together ceramic hand-building with discussions on integral theory, spirituality, and artistic process. Through making, reading, and conversation, we explore the connections between clay and personal development, form and meaning, tradition and individual voice.

Open to both in-person and virtual participants, this class provides a space for reflection, learning, and hands-on ceramic practice. Whether you're new to clay or experienced in the medium, it offers a way to engage with both material and self in a way that is both practical and contemplative. Small class sizes ensure space for meaningful conversation and personal attention. 

Integral Theory includes multiple tools for orientation, sense making and growth. The poetics class introduces and physically interacts with the All Quadrant map, stages and states of consciousness, structures of consciousness (world views), as seen in civilization-al developments over time with a view to ceramic history, and individual personality preferences and type.
