This 8.5-inch wide, 5-inch tall soda-fired bowl carries a bold, rugged presence, shaped by both material and fire. Its soda firing process results in a slightly shinier surface than anagama firing, with rich color variations ranging from gold to gray. The heavily textured surface reflects the dynamic interaction of brick, sand, and glaze, giving the bowl a raw, organic feel.
Despite its rugged exterior, the base has been smoothly ground with diamond tools, ensuring a stable, furniture-friendly surface. Whether used as a serving bowl, centerpiece, or functional sculpture, this piece embodies the energy of its firing—dynamic, unrefined, and full of character.
