Unomi

This handcrafted unomi is shaped with an organic, asymmetrical form, embracing the irregularities that make each piece unique. Made from porcelain with sand inclusions, the surface carries a natural texture that interacts beautifully with the glaze. The shino glaze reveals a spectrum of red to gold hues, enhanced by the subtle slip marks where the ash glaze settled less densely.

Fired upside down in a five-day wood firing, this unomi developed a smooth, fully glazed foot, adding to its tactile presence. The result is a cup that is both visually rich and satisfying to hold—perfect for tea, sake, or simply appreciating the way fire and material come together.
